Jungle Trek
What a tremendous adventure. Gopal took us into Rudyard Kipling’s “Jungle Book” forests… we rolled up our pants and forded a river… we encountered crocodiles, elephants, deer, and six rhinos close enough to nearly touch! Countless birds – storks, kingfishers… and Gopal spotted and knew the names of them all. We even found huge tiger tracks. I couldn’t recommend more enthusiastically. Ask Gopal to guide your trek. Get ready for a jungle adventure. You won’t be sorry.
Best Hotel in Chitwan National Park
Andreu CExcellent experience in Hotel Parkside. They treated us like their family, always watching for our confort and wellbeing. They organized the conoe trip and also jeep trip to Chitwan and it was an amazing experience! Totally recommend this hotel, lovely place and people.
A magical day in Chitwan!
Olive Zoe SParkside is a lovely place to stay – our room was clean and comfortable and the staff were great! They helped us book our tours and our bus to the next city.
We enjoyed a really great morning walk in the jungle with Gopal and he was a wonderful guide. Gopal knew so much about all the animals and taught us a lot!
Thank you for a great time in Chitwan – we had an awesome experience here!
Best Hotel in Chitwan National Park.
Munus Travel HomeHotel Parkside is family run hotel with excellence service. Even though in its hard time, Staff have made our stay very comfortable and provided all services we have booked. What we have loved this place is the Big Garden and nice rooms and best local service.
Exciting stay in Chitwan
Marie HoffmannI did a voluntary work at a school near the Parkside Hotel and stayed there for a month. Besides the local (and very delicious) food, I always had access to WiFi and cold/warm water. Also it was possible to take part in safari tours (also from the hotel itself) and cultural programs – accordingly to the central placement, it is quite easy to get to the attractions.
Moreover, the family and hotel staff was really caring and open minded. Also they helped me to organize the tours and trips to Lumbini and Kathmandu.
Meet With Gopal
Brian de RianchoGopal, the main staff person and wildlife guide at the hotel. A genuinely good and trustworthy man, he is the primary commodity at the Hotel Parkside. He is fantastic; kind, honest, knowledgeable, helpful, and absolutely hustle-free. He treated me above and beyond what was expected. Even if you stay elsewhere, I recommend you come see him as your guide before choosing any other guides in Chitwan.
Located on the very edge of Sauraha instead of right in the middle of it, you will have a somewhat quieter stay here.
The grounds of the hotel have many shade trees, flowers, hammock, and a pavilion with a fireplace that is a good place to sit and read, as long as you stay stay from the noisy goose pair. These geese made me think of having Goose Momos. You’ll understand soon enough.
The rooms are quite nice, being large, airy, comfortable, fairly quiet, and at a very reasonable price. The shower is lukewarm, not hot. The wifi in the rooms is lousy, sometimes acceptable, but never good, especially if it rains. But wifi in the restaurant is decent enough.
The restaurant could improve a bit. Service can be slow, and it would be great if they offered real coffee- but in Sauraha, you can’t find real coffee at many eateries, just instant, which I sincrrely hope changes soon. Also I don’t like having an additional 10% “service fee” + a “VAT tax” automatically added to the check, as I prefer to choose how I tip.
I hesitated a moment to give this hotel a 5 star rating, but Gopal’s goodness compensates for the few imperfections. It is a decent choice and good value overall, mostly credited to Gopal. Center your stay around him and you’ll be happy.
Mosquitoes in Sauraha are bad. Bring balm such as Golden Cup, Icy Hot, or Tiger Balm, which works great and stays on. 2 days is enough for safaris, and have zero expectations or demands about seeing wildlife, as it is by nature unpredictable and unguaranteeable. Temper your experience with this mindset.
A happy return
Daisy CloverOur two night stay at Hotel Parkside covered all our accommodation, transport, food, park fees and activities such as morning canoe safari, forest walks, four hour jeep safari, watching the elephant’s bath time, Tharu cultural performance and the elephant breeding centre. I chose Hotel Parkside because we had been so satisfied with our experience there eight years ago. It was also an opportunity to catch up with Gopal who had been our guide then and impressed us so much.
Hotel Parkside had undergone a refurbishment since our last visit and was rather smarter and more stylish. Our upstairs room was spacious, clean, bright and comfortable with flat screen television and additional seating area on the shared balcony. The bathroom had a hot water shower over a bath tub.
Meals were served in the upstairs, open sided dining room and it was also pleasant sitting there with a cold Gorkha beer. The hotel is set in an attractive garden with a pergola.
We were very satisfied with our wildlife experiences in Chitwan. Our guide Gopal has not lost his eye or his edge for spotting birds and wildlife. He could not have been more attentive or accommodating in making our visit an enjoyable one. As I said eight years ago, I think that even serious birders would be very satisfied with Gopal’s knowledge and expertise. My favourite activity was the early morning canoe ride which both serene and sublime.
Hotel parkside chitwan national park
From the PhilippinesEnjoyed our stay at hotel parkside, food is good , our guide Gopal is very attentive of our needs and always had our back during the canoe ride and walking tour 🙂 would recommend it and nano trek for making the tour possible
Hotel Parkside, Chitwan National Park
JanGreat hotel with nice rooms and a nice garden. There is also a possibility to sit next to a fireplace in the garden, which is great in winter when it gets colder in the evening. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Also worth mentioning that the owner of the hotel does a lot for the local community like supporting the local hospital and building a new school.
The food at the hotel was also really nice !
On the second day we did a canoe trip on the river in the Chitwan National Park with a jungle walk after the canoe trip.
Our guide Gopal was very helpful and showed us a lot of different animals like birds, hornbills, crocodiles, deer and even a Rhino.
Would recommend this hotel to everyone visiting Chitwan National Park !
Great place!!!-Hershey15
Hershey15Our guide Gopaul was excellent we did a jungle walk and saw some rhinos and a dugout canoe ride and saw some gators.
There is a nice elephant that lives behind the hotel that loves people’s attention. It was a great experience.
Great hotel, great staff, great location-Philip M
Philip MStayed here for 3 weeks in Nov – Dec towards thd end of the tourist season so at times it was a little quiet.
I stayed in the older part of hotel and the rooms are clean, spacious & comfortable. The food and service in restaurant is good.
The staff are very friendly, very helpful and will go above and beyond to help you find things to do, make suggestions and provide support.
The hotel is in a quieter part of Sauraha but only a 5 minute walk to the riverside and the town. Easy access to the park, canoe ride, walks and whike i was here saw, on 3 separate occasions, rhinos walking diwn the street.
The guides at the hotel are second to none…amazing knowledge of tge wildlife, plants and birds. Gopal has amazing eyesite (can spot stuff from miles away that this mere mortal.could not see) and can tell you the names of all the birds you can see.
One of the unsung joys of this hotel is thar they support the local community thru supporting volunteer tourism where funds go directly to the community. They are associated with the Elephant Dung Paper shop which provides local employment and all sales stay in the community.
Overall an excellent place to stay. You wont be disappointed…
Beautiful Hotel, Best Staff-Emily K
Emily Kstayed at Parkside for two nights on a 12-day solo trip throughout Nepal. This hotel and the park were honestly my favorite part of the whole trip. I was picked up and dropped off at the bus station by a very nice driver. I ate all of my meals at the hotel, and the food was good. I went on a Jeep safari tour, jungle walk, and a few other shorter walks around the village and in the park. I saw deer, crocodiles, working elephants, a few monkeys, a snake, frogs, tons of birds, and five rhinos! It was amazing to see all of the animals in the wild. What made it even better was the staff.
Gopal was my main guide throughout the length of the trip. He has a superpower to spot animals from miles away without even looking, I swear. He also knows everything about all of the animals in the park. Besides being an amazing, knowledgeable guide, you can also tell that he loves what he does. He is such a kind, genuine person. During my jungle walk, I was with Gopal and another guide named Bantha. Bantha is also very sweet and helpful. I couldn’t have asked for a better pair to lead me through the jungle, searching for rhinos. The rest of the staff at the hotel were all friendly and helpful as well, especially Keshav in the restaurant/bar – super friendly. I felt like part of the Parkside family while I was there. I am already planning to go back next year.
AMAZING PLACE. SUPER ACCOMMODATING!-jessicakfuller
jessicakfullerMy group of 8 stayed here for 2 nights in October and absolutely LOVED it.
Gopal was an amazing tour guide, we did the jungle walk (and saw some rhinos!!) and was able to do the elephant ride as well. They provide breakfast and dinner for their guests and it was great as well.
The hotel itself is peaceful and serene. You feel like you are staying in the jungle.
Most comfortable beds in Sauraha
CalHullI’ve stayed at three different hotels in Sauraha, and the Parkside had the most comfortable bed by far, as well as the cleanest bathroom. Downsides were a window with no class which made the room a bit cold at night, and no mosquito nets (I had to buy fly spray to kill them off, although once I did, there were no more for the two nights I stayed there). With mosquito nets and a window pane, would have been 5/5.
Amazing-Awashyak Shakya
Awashyak ShakyaI stayed for 3 nights enjoyed my stay there. Good room, good food,Friendly environment and best guides mr gopal and mr tapsi. We went for jungle walk must do activity better than elephant safari and jeep safari. Most memorable trip for me. Thank so much you gopal dai.Thank you team parkside. Dhanyabad🙏
Peaceful Sanctuary in Chitwan-Mia C
Mia CWe stayed at the hotel for 1 night and were absolutely blown away by the exceptional standard of the room and gardens as well as the hospitality and helpfulness of all the staff.
The rooms were spacious and beautifully furnished, and the bathroom was fully equipped with shower and bath with hot water and great pressure.
The staff organised for us to go to a Tharu cultural dance evening and a canoeing safari which were both smoothly run and great activities. The hotel’s staff member Gopal took us for the canoeing trip and his knowledge of the park and all the animals was amazing. He even went out of his way to take us to a sleeping think that he had come across earlier that morning!
I would highly recommend this place and Gopals guided tours for anyone who wants to truly experience all Chitwan has to offer.
Amazing-NepalHeather
NepalHeatherWe just recently stayed five nights at Hotel Parkside. We LOVED it! The rooms were so clean, the view was amazing, and the staff was so accommodating. Gopal is such a huge help, and he loves animals. He has so much knowledge, and he took us to everything, making sure we were well taken care of. He seemed to be able to spot every single bird there was anywhere, and knew which kind each was.
We have two small children, and by the end, they were regarding him as “Uncle Gopal” and even cried on the bus on the way home missing him. Even when we had nothing to do, we enjoyed just sitting in the garden and listening to the wildlife. I definitely recommend this place! We will be back!
Even better than last time!
Nice, spacious rooms, lovely staff, awesome location, Khagendra is a fantastic nature guide. The hotel added some helpful features to the rooms (our last stay was 3 years ago). We’ll definitely come back again. Highly recommended!
Incredible experience!
We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Parkside! Gopal is an outstandingly knowledgable and friendly guide with an amazing talent for tracking animals. He ensured our jungle experience was one we will never forget – we will certainly be coming back! Could not recommend highly enough. Thank you Gopal and Hotel Parkside!

Best Guide in Town-Robin H
Robin HWe stayed for 3 nights, without package. We booked only a full day walking tour and a canoe trip and had Gopal as our guide. He was brilliant, we saw a lot of wildlife and really enjoyed our stay. Would recommend staying here to anyone and to take Gopal as your guide.
Truly amazing experience-NomadBali
NomadBaliWe stayed at Hotel Parkside for 4 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The first night we stayed in the standard room and after that we moved to a deluxe room with a view of the elephants. There are 2 elephants, Asakalee and Pujakalee, who live at the hotel and we followed their activities through our window throughout the days. It was magical to have such an experience. The food is of high quality and some days a buffet is available if there are many guests and other days we ordered a la carte off the menu. The hotel has good hot water and wifi as well, however you have to be prepared for outages in the wifi due to power interruptions. This of course is the same through all of Nepal.
Then there is Chitwan National Park, which is of course amazing. There are no guarantees when it comes to nature, but we were lucky to see so many different kind of birds, monkeys, deer, two different species of crocodiles and plenty of rhinos. We recommend the canoe followed by the jungle walk and also the bird watching. The staff were very friendly and we would particularly like to mention Mr Gopal. Mr Gopal took us on the canoe, jungle walk and bird watching. He is a very passionate and knowledgeable guide and we learnt much from him.
We had a great time staying at the Hotel Parkside and recommend it highly to other guests and we will definitely return in the future.
Great time in chitwan (sauraha)-Prakash Sherpa
Prakash SherpaHotel parkside is nice to stay. And staffs are very kind.
We went jungle safari with one Guide of the Hotel Gopal! It was a great jungle walk, his knowledge about the wildlife is very appreciable. Special mention to the boat time, during what you can observe so many birds and animals – crocodiles included ;).
This hotel is highly recommendable for a relax stay.
Great stay-Nasreen Mitu
Nasreen MituThe room was quiet. A little problem was there in toilet but nothing much serious. room was clean. dining area was lovely. we took elephant safari, it was nice experience. Jungle walk was so so. stuffs of the hotel were really nice and friendly. We had overall great experience!
Hotel Parkside
hamburgrepresentWe stayed in Parkside for 6 weeks and were 100% happy there. Very nice people good rooms and a friendly atmosphere for fair prices. The hotel is near the national park, all together it was a pleasure to stay there!
Great time in Chitwan-Katharina R
Katharina RWe had a really great time in Chitwan Nationalpark and also at Parkside Inn. The room (in the new building) was very nice. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was good and the the staff was lovely. We even got the chance to practice our volleyball skills with them 🙂
And our jungle walk as well as the canoe trip with Gepal, our guide was excellent. Gepal shared with us his knowledge about the forest and its animals (20 years experience!) and we got to see Rhinos, crocodiles, Tukans, lots of other birds and elephants. Unfortunately, no tiger, but it was still a great tour. Thank you very much for the great days in Chitwan!
Good people with good hearts-Jan C
Jan CThe hotel itself is quite big and the park is really worth a jungle walk! Be sure to bring mosquito repellent 🙂 the people there are very friendly and will happily play a game of badminton or volleyball with you, the guides know their stuff as they grew up in the jungle and the hotel is working together with several volunteering programs, trying to help their local community . These people want to help their fellow man and woman and many westerners could learn something from them!! Go here 🙂 i would advise bringing loads of pens for the local children.
A Decent Hotel-michaelfitzg
MichaelfitzgWe stayed here for a couple of nights while visiting the park and it is an ok hotel but nothing special. We had two rooms and both of them had problems and had to be changed. We eventually got better rooms but they would not move us until they tried to fix the rooms first which was a bit frustrating after a very long days drive. Apart from that the staff was pretty good and the rooms ok.

Peace and tidy-Prayash K
Prayash KThis hotel is located in peaceful location and about 15 minutes walk from the riverside. Peaceful location, decent communication and rooms are worth the price. Restaurant service is slightly slower but overall a good experience of the stay. Recommended for pleasure visitor/s not requiring television and wifi at room.
Suggestive Resort in the heart of the Chitwan jungle-Marco G
Marco GReally a good experience. We arrived in late due to the flight cancellation and we have been warmly welcome by a couple of laughly guys, which provide a tremendous help for organizing the elephant safari and the canoa walking tour inside the jungle.. providing us a great Nepali dinner. Jungle trips have been both amazing!! Good tipical hotel, with good WI FI and a good rooms, cleaned, with hot water 24hr. The Guide is an expert local man which supported too much during the walking trip in the jungle giving us all info about the origin of Chitwan, the history and all best suggestion just in case to be in front of any animals … a good support especially when the rhino decided to run to Us!! Nice and wild experience!!
Amazing Experience in Chitwan
curtip55We recently did the 5 day, 4 night package in Chitwan and stayed at Hotel Parkside which was set up by the trekking company owner. What an amazing experience with such a variety of activities to do everyday. Our room was great , very large with a hot shower , very clean and quiet probably one of our better rooms we stayed at during our month in Nepal. Interesting with all the bee haives that just appeared ! We had the full package with meals provided and an array of different activities to do every day . The meals were great with a variety of food and I was able to have coffee daily. Our guide was Gopal who was excellent and make sure we got the full experience. He was very knowledgeable and we had great treks in the jungle. While every activity was so much fun I think the elephant safari sticks out as one of my favorites . We would often walk down to the river to see the sunset and enjoy a cold beverage so you do not want to miss this experience . They have a nice restaurant/bar there for you to enjoy . Overall an amazing experience and can not recommend Hotel Parkside and Gopal enough . Thank you for the great memories .
One of the best stays and experiences during the trip in Nepal-lazanka
lazankaIt was a truly incredible experience staying at Parkside Hotel. Such a welcoming and warm feeling from staff from the first step we arrived in Chitwan. Everyone working at the hotel were super friendly and really looked after you. We felt and been treated more like good friends rather than another tourists. The room was very spacious, very comfy beds, newly renovated, all other facilities were very clean and tidy. Beautiful artwork in the hall. Delicious food! Absolutely loved the Tharu culture performance show and dance at the hotel, what a beautiful cultural experience. And of course one of the best parts was jungle safari and canoe ride with the best guide Gopal! He is such a caring and professional guide, very knowledgable and showed us so many interesting birds, animals…
Chilled hotel!-Nisha B
Nisha BA relaxing environment, spacious room both Ac/Fan, staffs are nice and helpful! The bar/Restaurant area is chilled and relaxing! They provide transportation to places of events, such as elephant rides and are quite helpful if you are new to chitwan, they told us to go see tharu dance and museum, which was interesting!
The Heart of the Jungle’ resides at Parkside!!!-Stan M
Stan MThe real deal! If looking for the place to stay in Chitwan, Parkside is the place, from their excellent, friendly and very knowledgeable staff to the fact that they are locally owned and help support a local school and orphanage…need I say more!
From picking us up at the Airport to the ride back all I can say is “Heart of the Jungle” Chitwan.
GoPal from Nepal, our guide, seemed to know every blade of grass and majestic perch for all the thousands of birds, the favorite Rhino hangouts and all the intricacies of jungle life.
The room was nice and clean and very efficient. The food, excellent! and the beer flowed!
If I could give more stars I would in a heartbeat!
Danyebad (Thank you) Parkside!!!
Majestic and a wonderful stay-Little Miss Busy
Little Miss BusyI came here with some friends and my boyfriend. On the way in Chitwan you will see people riding elephants and guiding them. Some are decorated with paint they look so beautiful. The hotel looked gorgeous and massive when we arrived. We were greeted and went to the restaurant upstairs straight away and had a drink. Friendly service and the layout is great. Walking over to our rooms and to hear crickets and the birds was like music to my ears. Outside the room there is almost like a patio and courtyard which is beautiful and some staff sat down talking away nice and pleasant. On the other side we could see animals from the window this was so visually appealing. The rooms were massive with a kitchen and appliances to cook. Used the living room as a predrinking session which we introduced our Nepali friends to and the bedroom was really spacious with good amount of storage and comfortable beds.
Room view was so pretty as well. Toilet and shower were well and easy to use. Luxurious shower with warm water. Very clean hotel. Couldn’t be happier this was definitely our best looking hotel and comfortable during our stay in Nepal. We also did plenty of activities such as elephant back safari, going through the jungle, visiting the elephant breeding centre and getting on the wooden boats canoeing.
This was plenty of fun and a wonderful magical experience. Anyone and everyone will fall in love with the animals and this type of visit is perfect for everyone. In addition, we got to see a cultural performance which was women dancing and men using different types of sticks, drums and so on and performing dances. At the end we went to the stage and joined in. I would love to go back and stay longer in this place. There is so much to do and I loved my experience here. We got to see Chitwan whilst it was boiling hot as well as monsoon type of rain so a great varied experience. Definitely recommend to everyone to see atleast once if not a million
Immersed in nature-Stephenlombardo
StephenlombardoFor parts of three days this February we stayed at this hotel near Chitwan National Park. We had arranged ahead of time for a guide, Gopal, that my daughter had used before. In the two days of outings we saw the Elephant Breeding center, rode an elephant, canoed through part of the park, hiked the jungle and throughout was delighted by our guide Gopal’s knowledge of the area and the variety of birds and animals he pointed out, including 2 pairs of rhinos and 2 more individual rhinos using the river to cool off. Our overall experience was exceptional. We enjoyed the convenience of being able to eat at the hotel as our days were well filled with activities. I would recommend the hotel for anyone wanting to visit Chitwan Park and especially our guide Gopal.
Lovely hotel in jungle-Richard L H
Richard L HWe stayed two nights at the Parkside. Our rooms were in the older wing of this well-manicured complex. The hotel is located in the quiet end of Sauraha, a short walk from the national park.
We visited downtown Sauraha (where Hotel Peacock, ATM’s, etc., are located), and were happy with our selection. We relied on the restaurant and staff at Hotel Parkside, their service and relaxed approach were perfect for our stay.
Wifi was acceptable, the beers cold, the rooms clean and spacious.
Amazing! Go there!!-Lety Travel
LetyTravelThe staff was very nice and helpful! They help us a lot also with the research of the flight! Their guide was Amazing, he could show us every animal. The breakfast was very nice with fresh food and also the nepal food was very very nice!! Go there! They have inside the hotel 2 elephant that are beautiful!! Maria
Perfect location for your Chitwan jungle experience-Rick E
Rick EWe just completed a 6 day 5 night trekking package with the Hotel Parkside. Our room was perfect; large windows, clean, quiet, with a comfortable bed and large bathroom with hot water shower. The food was fresh and delicious and the staff was very helpful from the moment we arrived through the time we departed. It was also brought to our attention the Hotel Parkside is giving back to the community through support of such services as a women’s sewing program, the Mount View English Boarding School and the construction of a new eye hospital.
Our trekking experience surpassed all expectations. Our lead guide Gopal was great. He has been guiding for 20 years in the Chitwan area and this was evident by both his knowledge and professionalism. Gopal has an uncanny knack for spotting both wildlife and birds and we were able to locate and see many rhinos, deer (multiple types), bear, wild boar, crocodiles and countless numbers of birds. We are sill in awe of his ability to see and hear animals. In addition, he truly enjoys his job and is eager to share his knowledge of the area. He is truly a great guy and we would highly recommend that you ask for him when booking your jungle activities.
We would highly recommend the Hotel Parkside and their Chitwan jungle activities.

Also heaps of birds, and best part that they were all wild and in their natural habitat.
The hotel is run by local Nepalese family, we got to meet one of the owners, and he told us about how much input they got in the local community. They help in so many ways, certain percentage of the accommodation price goes towards helping community (like building schools, library, etc) , What an incredible cause. I cannot recommend enough this place and humble people who look after this place! Thank you so much for the magical stay and experience!
Unforgettable hotel in the hearth of Chitwan-Marijn Pronker
Marijn PronkerAfter 2 weeks in this hotel I can definetly say I will come back to this wonderful place. The rooms are provided with every comfort, the food of the restaurant is delicious and the staff is lovely and provide high quality service.
The safari guides are the best in Chitwan (more sources say so). Ask for Gopal from Nepal. They offer very affordable packages on their website. Might be the best option.
The hotel is a family business, meaning that the whole family lives just behind the hotel. This makes it even more engaging.
I will be back soon to this great place of relax, fun and love…
HEAVEN ON EARTH-Claire
AnywherebutClaireI really, truly, deep-down loved my stay here. I’ve been traveling for 7 months straight, so it’s easy for experiences to blend together. But this place and the people who inhabit it really stand out in my mind. Right from the moment I arrived they were extremely hospitable. I became friends with a volunteer who had been working on the property for a few weeks (Merjin) and he introduced me to all the staff members. We had a going away party (which included a big, home-cooked dinner) on his “last night” but then he ended up coming back for a night due to some road repairs so we all went to the local watering hole (The Lion’s Den) for live music and dancing. SO SWEATY AND SO SO SO FUN. Once Merjin left, I felt like a part of the family. Staff made sure to include me in as many activities as possible and I ended up doing a Jeep safari as well as a cultural tour (on top of some excursions that were free!)
It was also the NICEST ROOM EVER. It was so comfortable, and it looked out on a rice paddy. The sounds of the frogs and crickets at night made my heart sing! I could also see an elephant grazing in its paddock when I was laying in my bed in the afternoon. And it had a bathtub! Such a wonderful stay. Big shout out to Hom (mah mannnn) and Depender for their hospitality. So much love for this place, and I hope to be back one day.
My home in chitwan…-Ernur
ErnurThis is my 2nd time fo visiting to chitwan. Before coming here ,I do not to book or plan anything. I just send an e- mail to my parkside family and everything is on way. Authentic quiet resort with genuine service.-Paulsir
PaulsirI keep sleeping in this older but authentic resort somewhat out of the way of the current towns center and busy main street. They renovated the rooms but kept the wonderful decorations and art in the halls. Many volunteers workers prefer this hotel as well, as the management is also involved in development works such as schools and a elephant paper atelier.

I joined two programs organized by the hotel: a short jungle walk in the morning and a pretty long jeep safari in the afternoon. Both were great, veey exciting exeriences. Our guide Gopal was really fantastic, great knowledge od the surrounding nature and and incredible eye, able to spot hidden animals everywhere!

Angela KWe stayed here for two nights in late April. Our room was huge, clean (by Nepal standards), and comfortable. Our nature guide during our stay, Gopal, was friendly and knowledgeable and a pleasure to learn from. We were impressed with our meals and the speed of the service in the restaurant. Thank-you to all the staff (especially Gopal) at Hotel Parkside!

Great place to stay!
Ashley GWe stayed at Hotel Parkside for 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay. We felt very welcome from the moment we got there. We did all of our excursions through them and couldn’t have asked for better guides! We did the Jungle Walk, Canoe your, elephant bath, and the Jeep Safari. Our guide for the Jeep Safari and the canoe ride was Gopal and he did a fantastic job! He could point out so many animals and birds it was incredible. We saw rhinos, monkeys, sloth bear, wild boar and countless beautiful birds. The hotel staff was very nice and the accommodations were clean and the food was good. Would stay there again in a heartbeat if we ever return to Chitwan.
Wonderful little lodge in a great location
cool_jonezWe stayed here for 2 nights in March. Highly recommend.
Pluses:
1) The staff is wonderful. They were helpful in assisting with tours, but not in a pushy way.
2) Gopal, the in-house wildlife guide, is fantastic. I’ve been all over the world, and he is one of the best guides I’ve ever had.
3) Reasonably priced, good tours (canoeing in the park, morning park walk, Elephant Breeding Center visit)
4) Free breakfast
5) Excellent, large rooms with attached patios, comfy beds
6) Clean
7) Free wifi
8) Excellent location- you can walk to Chitwan Park and Sauraha town
9) Minimart right next door
10) Lovely garden/sitting area outside
11) Free pickup/dropoff at the bus station
Minuses
1) It was quiet and idyllic until several tour buses of teens showed up. The hotel put them in a separate dorm-like building, but it ruined the quiet of the common areas
2) The wifi is not reliable, but you’re in the jungle, so it’s to be expected
Overall, I highly recommend this place.
Very good choice
demianknobelVery nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast and dinner. Rooms are very clean and with all the necessary things, hot water included.
The hotel has very good guides (ask for Gopal). They know a lot about habitat and living of the animals.
Khagendra, the best guide
Sarah_and_OliKhagendra, one of the two guides of the hotel, made our stay in parkside hotel a wonderful experience. Our two kids (7 and 9 years old) loved to be around him. Our son loves fishing, so Khagendra made it possible that we visited his private house, where we could fish in a pond just next to it. The family than cooked the fish and we could eat a wonderful meal on the kitchen floor in a traditional manner. Khagendra also explained how they plant rise and he showed us his house. It was a wonderful day, that we will never forget. Khagendra and his family are open to offer this trip also to other guests.
The hotel has two elephants, the breakfast is generous, the garden is peaceful and the two guides can organise all trips like jungle walk, elephant bathing and much more.
Great staff, quality accommodations, and yummy food!
Jesse BA great place to stay to see the park. The staff are extremely welcoming, polite, and friendly. Gopal, the lead guide for the hotel, is one of a kind! He grew up in the area, and knows every inch of the accessible park like the back of his hand. He’ll find every rhino, deer, wild pig, peacock, and even some tigers for you during the national park tours. He will also give you the more personal side of the Nepali culture, and a great glimpse into life in southern nepal. We couldn’t have been happier with our time at parkside and the tours they provided.
Almost an afterthought because the staff are so wonderful, are the rooms. Clean, spacious and nicely situated. You feel like you are living in the small nepali town, but secretly have all the amenities of home. Look out the front window, and see the local taxi drivers and tour guides sharing a laugh between their busy schedules in a simple but lovely courtyard. Look out the back window and see the local goats and chickens walk past and nibble on grass in the field, then catch a glimpse of the elephants returning to their enclosures for the evening after giving some tours. Just great!
The hotel’s restaurant serves up some great local food, but has options for all comers. We enjoyed all the meals we had there, and even came home with plans to try to duplicate some of the yummy eggplant dishes they served up! Tasty!
The staff were more than accommodating to our rambunctious 2 year old, and went out of their to make her trip (and ours) a memorable one.
Welcoming, passionate, amazing!!
Sanger24The people at Parkside truly love this park, the animals, and all the many visitors who come to appreciate it. My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 days and experienced everything they had to offer. If we wanted to spend more time with the elephants, they arranged it for us, if we wanted to go swimming, they made it happen, if we wanted American food, they fixed it for us; whatever we needed, they were more than willing to accommodate! On top of that, they are SO knowledgeable! Their staff are incredibly in tune with the animals and the jungle and were able to lead us on an exciting jungle safari with surprises from rhinos and wild boars! I couldn’t have been more happy with my stay here. It is all about the experience for me — the beds are comfortable and the shower is hot, but I don’t mind where I sleep as long as the people and the location are great, and this place has it all!
Great place!!!
Hershey15Our guide Gopaul was excellent we did a jungle walk and saw some rhinos and a dugout canoe ride and saw some gators.
There is a nice elephant that lives behind the hotel that loves people’s attention. It was a great experience.
